WHY DISCOVER SCUBA DIVING WITH REEF GLIDERS?
With no more than four students you will be well looked after by your highly trained PADI instructor. Our dive center in Roatan enjoys a great location on the water's edge, so you will discover how to scuba dive in the Caribbean Sea. Your safety is our top priority, we take care to follow and teach PADI's safe diving practices and to maintain very high standards at all times. We want you to have fun while you learn! Our PADI instructors love what they do. Everything is taught in baby steps, our instructors are very patient and and they have years of experience teaching people how to dive in Roatan.
WHAT WILL YOU DO DURING THE DISCOVER SCUBA DIVING PROGRAM IN ROATAN?
When you arrive your dive instructor will greet you and give you a short briefing on how to use scuba equipment to breath underwater! They will explain the effects that water pressure can have on our bodies and how divers deal can with them.
Before you leave the dive shop to practice together, your instructor will show you how to perform several scuba diving skills and how to communicate using hand signals underwater.
You will head of to discover scuba diving in Roatan just off the beach Half Moon Bay in water shallow enough to stand up in. Once you are comfortable using your equipment to breath under water, your PADI instructor will show you how to do some essential skills and how to move around while scuba diving. Then you will get to practice what you have learnt until you have mastered the basic skills needed to have a safe enjoyable dive.
We will take you out by boat to one of the beautiful dive sites near our dive shop in Roatan's West end. You will be getting into the Caribbean sea to experience some of the best diving Roatan has to offer! Under the supervision of your instructor you will go down to a maximum of 40ft to see the stunning marine life that Roatan is famous for.
READY TO DISCOVER SCUBA DIVING ON ROATAN?
You will need to allow up to four hours for your Discover Scuba Diving experience on Roatan. All you will need to bring with you is a bathing suit, sunscreen and a towel as all dive equipment will be provided for a one time charge of $15.00. To participate, you must be at least 10 years old and medically fit to dive. We normally begin this class at 9am or 12pm daily, however we are happy to work to your schedule if your time on the island is limited. After the program, we offer additional non-certified dives with your instructor or you can continue training and do your Open Water course in Roatan for only an extra $250.
