Our Boats

Reef gliders has a fleet of two: Ushaka (Shark) and Umkhomo (Whale) named in Zulu in honor of Irma's South African heritage.

Ushaka was the first of the two to join the family. She has a Yamaha engine with 200 horsepower and can carry up to 14 divers. With tank holders, seating areas, a ladder and recently renovated finishings, Ushaka is sleek and speedy. Sit back, relax and enjoy the sunshine on your face, as you arrive to your dive site in class and comfort.

Umkhomo is the second addition to the family.  When it comes to size, space and design, she's tough to beat. With 45 feet of length, 'Her Massiveness' has a capacity of up to 25 divers, and can accommodate big groups (always respecting the 5:1 divers to guide ratio). She has just been renovated to allow for modern and spacious seating/briefing areas. Umkhomo boasts two shiny four-stroke (environmentally friendlier) 300-horsepower Yamaha engines. So she has 600 horsepower to effortlessly carry us further afield on special trips to the Seamounts, to Cayos Cochinos (the Hog Cays), Guanaja and even Utila, our neighbouring Bay Islands.
